optical mark reader (short for omr or called scanner), is the computer peripheral, it has input data instead of keyboard input and solved the “bottleneck” of data input, the speed of data input is hundreds of times faster than manpower and it succeeds in no error indeed. it can work for a long time without break which manpower can’t compare with. no else can be used instead at present. omr has been widely used in the examinations, signing up, application and personal evaluation, voting, large-scale survey and data statistics and so on.. working flowchart of omr: make forms uniformly—fill in marks dispersedly—input centralized—disposal quickly.
